Wash the holiday linens and pack away the Christmas tableware

Put the laundered linens in plastic bags to prepare them for storage. If the Christmas dishes and pans don’t have their own space in your cabinets, pack them carefully into boxes that you can keep elsewhere. Make sure your dishes are protected and you fill in the gaps with packing material, so they don’t shift when they’re moved. Towels and linens make good shock absorbers too!

Eat the food or give away what won’t last

Segregate gifts into YES! (You love them and plan to use them.), UMMM… (You’re undecided.), and SORRY, NO. (You don’t need them, know you won’t use them, or already have them.) Make sure your entire family does this as well. Pack the “UMMMs” and “SORRY, NOs” into containers that you can store away till you decide what to do with each item. Store them safely, and properly label the boxes. Don’t let them pile up and clutter up your home and extra rooms.
