MANILA, Philippines – Host and former How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris opened the 2015 Oscars with a tribute performance to the beauty of moving pictures.
The Verge has this video:
He started off with dropping film names that changed his life, while his shadow – now larger in size – danced behind him. He was then “part” of notable film scenes from Ghost and Wizard of Oz, to name a few.
In a scene from Into The Woods, he found a high-heeled shoe which led him to Anna Kendrick – or rather, Cinderella from. The two then continued in a duet, but not long before an angry Jack Black interrupted them.

Jack ranted about how everyone’s movies would have leather whips following the success of Fifty Shades of Grey and groaned about the success of superhero movies, but his rant stopped when Neil told him that Jack was interrupting the performance – and after Anna Kendrick pelted him with her shoe.
Before his performance, he welcomed the star-studded audience, saying that it was the night to celebrate “Hollywood’s best and whitest – sorry, brightest – [nominees],” a jab at the “all-white” nominees list this year. – Rappler.com
