Celebrity couple Paolo Contis and LJ Reyes have broken up, the actor’s manager Lolit Solis said.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, August 22, Solis said that romance between the two just fizzled out and that they “outgrew” their romance. “Walang [third] party sa hiwalayang Paolo Contis at LJ Reyes. It was a matter of na-outgrow na nila ang romance sa kanilang relasyon,” she said.

(There’s no third party involved in Paolo Contis and LJ Reyes’ breakup. It was a matter of them outgrowing the romance in their relationship.)

Solis emphasized that Contis and Reyes decided to end things amicably instead of straining their relationship, “Kesa naman humantong pa sa pag-aaway, mas gusto nila na maghiwalay ng maayos at dasal na mag-end as friends.”

(Instead of having to fight eventually, they decided to part ways peacfully in the hopes that they will still be friends.)

Break-up rumors started circulating on Thursday, August 19, when fans noticed that Contis removed all of Reyes’ photos from his Instagram account and had stopped following anyone on the platform. Meanwhile, Reyes is still following the actor on the platform and still has photos of them on her account.

Solit also asked fans to stop dragging Yen Santos, Contis’ co-star in A Faraway Land, in the couple’s breakup. “Huwag na natin idamay pa si [Yen] Santos dahil may sarili siyang love story. Kaya hindi siya kasali sa love life nina Paolo at LJ.” (Let’s not have Yen Santos involved in this issue because she has her own love story. She is not part of Paolo and LJ’s love life.)

Contis and Reyes have yet to publicly address the breakup.
