MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Miss World Philippines Valerie Weigmann made it to the top 25 of Miss World. This was announced midway through the Miss World coronation held in London, United Kingdom Sunday, December 14. The journey later ended for her as she did not make it to the top 10.
Miss South Africa Rolene Strauss was later announced the winner, with Miss Hungary and Miss United States in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.
The following winners were announced for the special challenge events:
- Sports: Finland
- Multimedia: United States
- Top Model: Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Beach fashion: Sweden
- Talent champion: Malaysia
The most important challenge event, Beauty With A Purpose, carries twice the weight in terms of points awarded. India, Kenya, Brazil, Indonesia, and Guyana were the top 5 in this event – and in a special twist, they were all announced the winners.
