Central Luzon regional hospital stops accepting COVID-19 patients

The Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) in San Fernando, Pampanga, announced on Friday, September 10, that it had stopped accepting COVID-19 patients as the hospital reached its full bed capacity.

According to Friday’s announcement, there are still patients in emergency rooms and isolation tents waiting to be admitted to the regional hospital.

Pampanga on Friday logged a total of 5,584 active COVID-19 cases and reported 320 new cases, 306 new recoveries, and 28 new deaths. The breakdown of the new cases is as follows:

• San Fernando – 88 cases
• Mabalacat – 61 cases
• Sta. Ana – 24 cases
• Arayat – 21 cases
• Lubao – 20 cases
• Mexico – 20 cases
• Porac – 18 cases
• Magalang – 10 cases
• Macabebe – 10 cases
• Sto. Tomas – 10 cases
• Floridablanca – 6 cases
• Sta. Rita – 6 cases
• Apalit – 5 cases
• Masantol – 5 cases
• San Simon – 5 cases
• Bacolor – 4 cases
• Candaba – 4 cases
• San Luis – 3 cases

Based on the Philippine Epidemiology Surveillance Unit and the Pampanga Provincial Information Office’s database, the province now has a total of 38,405 confirmed cases, with 30,868 recoveries and 1,952 deaths.

According to the Department of Health Central Luzon, three variants of concern have been confirmed in the province: Alpha (24 cases), Beta (14 cases), and Delta (33 cases), for a total of 71 cases. One case of the Theta COVID-19 variant has also been confirmed in the province.

In Angeles City, three variants of concern have been confirmed: Alpha (5 cases), Beta (6 cases), and Delta (7 cases), for a total of 18 cases.

The JBLMGH management on Friday reminded the public that the regional hospital is a Level 3 facility that prioritizes severe and critical cases of COVID-19.

It advised the public to contact their provincial referral hotline numbers for patients experiencing mild to moderate symptoms for proper medical guidance, information, and referrals.

Vice Governor Lilia Pineda also asked the public to call the COVID-19 hotline numbers in their respective municipality/city as part of the home care program to further assist those with mild to moderate COVID-19 symptoms while at home.

Pineda also advised the public to constantly check on their family members and immediately report for COVID-19 symptoms.
