Who’s who in Marcos-Duterte senatorial slate
The tandem of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte has so far announced 11 members of their senatorial slate.
Back in January, the Marcos camp released a list containing 10 names. Marcos spokesperson Vic Rodriguez said Sagip Representative Rodante Marcoleta is “the first pick.” Marcoleta is a member of Iglesia ni Cristo, an influential religious group whose endorsement is sought after by candidates due to its practice of bloc voting. INC also owns the Philippine Arena in Bulacan where the Marcos-Duterte tandem will hold their proclamation rally.
The latest addition, just announced on Friday, February 4, is Gregorio Honasan II, a former senator and a retired soldier who played a key role in the 1986 People Power Revolution that ousted the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
