Billy 'Z4pnu' Alfonso is one of a handful of players punished by MPL PH for violating league rules

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) suspended Execration veteran Billy “Z4pnu” Alfonso for his social media post that hinted at gambling.

One of the most popular personalities in the game, Z4pnu will not be able to play for Execration in its Season 7 matches against Blacklist International on Friday, March 26 and Bren Esports on Sunday, March 28.

Z4pnu revealed the suspension on his vlog.

On his personal Facebook profile, Z4pnu offered a P200,000 wager on Nexplay Esports against Bren Esports in their Week 1 duel.

Nexplay eventually swept defending champion Bren Esports.

Z4pnu had since deleted his posts.

“That is okay because gambling is really prohibited,” Z4pnu said in Filipino.

“I’ve been doing that for a long time, it is probably just stricter now.”

Aside from Z4pnu, MPL PH punished and warned other teams’ players and staff for violating league rules.

“Team members must always be professional, especially given their social media standing, their status as a professional player of the MPL, and icons of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang community,” the league said.

“Any violation of MPL PH rules and limits will not be tolerated.”
