Chinese smartphone brand POCO on Tuesday, June 1, launched the POCO M3 Pro 5G with a starting price of P8,990, making it one of the cheapest 5G-capable phones in the market right now.

Prior to the phone’s launch, 5G-capable units were mostly found in the P17,000 to P20,000 price range, making the M3 Pro instantly attractive for anyone looking to see what the 5G fuss is all about.

Powering the 5G capabilities of the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor, which includes an integrated 5G modem. The phone also has 5G dual-SIM support, which means both of its SIM slots support 5G.

The phone also has a 90Hz display, which makes for smoother scrolling as opposed to standard 60Hz screens. The screen also dynamically switches between 30Hz, 40Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz for power-saving purposes.

It has a 48MP main camera, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor, while a 5,000 mAh battery – considered large at any price range – powers the unit.

The phone will be available on June 3, and will come in two variants: the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant (P8,990) and the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant (P11,990). POCO is running an early bird promo too with the prices dropping to P7,490 and P9,490 respectively from June 3, 4, and 6 on official on Lazada.
