MANILA, Philippines – TNT crowned itself as the First Conference king of the second PBA 3×3 after ruling the Grand Finals with a 20-17 win over Platinum Karaoke at the Robinsons Novaliches on Sunday, October 30.

Almond Vosotros and Gryann Mendoza showed the way as the Tropang Giga, riding high on their Third Conference championship in the inaugural season, reasserted their mastery following their three-leg title haul this tournament.

Mendoza broke a 17-17 deadlock with a layup with 19 ticks left before Vosotros drained the win-sealing free throws to propel TNT into becoming the first team in PBA 3×3 history to own two conference crowns.

Vosotros finished with 8 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals, while Mendoza chimed in 7 points as the Tropang Giga pocketed the top purse of P750,000, raising their total earnings for the conference to over P1 million.

TNT earned P100,000 each for its titles in Legs 1, 5, and 6, bagged P50,000 for its runner-up finish in Leg 4, and got P30,000 for its third-place finish in Leg 2.

Lervin Flores frolicked inside the paint with 3 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks for the Tropang Giga, while Ping Exciminiano added 2 points.

Claiming an outright berth to the knockout stage as the top seed, TNT advanced to the championship round in dominant fashion, crushing NorthPort, 21-11, in the quarterfinals, and trouncing Cavitex, 21-16, in the semifinals.

Platinum Karaoke, composed of Nico Salva, Yutien Andrada, Terrence Tumalip, and Brandon Bates, received the runner-up purse of P250,000 as it fell short of completing its Cinderella run.

Seeded sixth, Platinum Karaoke stunned third seed J&T Express in a 19-15 quarterfinals win before it pulled off another upset against second seed Meralco, escaping with a 16-15 victory in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Cavitex took P100,000 for securing third place after a 16-11 triumph over Meralco.

Jorey Napoles powered the Braves with 7 points and 7 rebounds, while Bong Galanza also netted 7 points on top of 3 rebounds in the win. – Rappler.com
