Chito and Neri are confident that Miggy's #LabanNgKatawan will allow him to grow up with PLUS in immunity, PLUS in growth, and PLUS in energy

Now that Miggy is 4 years old, dad Chito Miranda wants him to make the most of his childhood.

According to the Bonakid Pre-School 3+ #PamilyangMayLaban Facebook Live Q&A of the Mirandas, he is determined to recapture his fun and carefree experiences for Miggy.

That’s what I also want to do pagdating kay Miggy. (That’s what I also want to do for Miggy. I want him to be strong so he can get down in the mud, play out in the rain, and even climb a tree.)

Getting Miggy to engage in physical activities and his surroundings is the couple’s way to help him boost immunity, ensure proper growth, and expend his energy well – while diverting his attention away from too much gadget use. The Parokya ni Edgar vocalist credits this parenting approach to his mom, who let him and his siblings play outdoors however they wanted as long as they didn’t fight with their other kalaro (playmates).

In fact, when asked about their family dynamics, he said that his role is Miggy’s “buddy,” while Neri would usually be the disciplinarian. “Kulang na lang, ang tawag na niya sa ‘kin, “pare”.” (The only thing missing is him calling me “dude.”)

The #TatayNaMayLaban said, however, that he also has an authoritative side to him, owing to his grandfather’s military background. As a kid, his dad imposed strict meal schedules and eating habits, which he is passing down to his son as well.

Citing an instance, Chito said to Miggy once, “Bakit nagbukas ng pangalawang snack nang ‘di pa ‘to ubos? ‘Di pwedeng bukas pareho ‘yan, isa lang dapat buksan kasi masasayang.” (Why did you open another snack when you haven’t finished the other one yet? You should only open one to avoid wastage.”)

Balanced meals with a PLUS

Both Chito and Neri acknowledged that as a 4-year-old, Miggy needs all the PLUS to sustain his energy, especially since he’s growing really fast and is now constantly exposed to new things and environments. Aside from getting him used to a more active lifestyle, they want to make sure that he has #LabanNgKatawan by making him eat healthy food. Preferably, meals with PLUS nutrients – PLUS in immunity, PLUS in growth, and PLUS in energy.

“Everything healthy, he eats. Alam niya ‘yung (He knows the) importance of vegetables, fish, and fruits. Basically, a well-rounded diet,” said Chito.

How? The couple harped on Miggy’s curiosities to be able to introduce “new” food. As a result, they have turned healthy eating into an adventure.

Neri advised parents to get creative, “Dapat mag-experiment kayo. Kung feeling n’yong “hindi ito kakainin ng anak ko,” ‘wag n’yong isipin ‘yun. I-try n’yo pa rin.” (You should experiment. Don’t dismiss [healthy food] right away as something your child won’t eat. Keep trying.)

Finally, the two emphasized that kids should be given the trust to explore and do it all as mga #BatangMayLaban, but they should have the PLUS nutrients they need for their age through Bonakid Pre-School 3+. It has immunity, growth, and energy nutrients to help give them their #LabanNgKatawan.

May immunity PLUS growth PLUS energy. (I want to be confident that I’ve given him the strength his body needs. Immunity PLUS growth PLUS energy. I can let him play outside without worrying.)
