Celebrity photographer Raymund Isaac died on Saturday, September 4, after being hospitalized for COVID-19. He was 59.
His death was confirmed by his younger brother, Edward Isaac, in a Facebook post.
“To those who prayed with us in different parts of the world for Raymund, thank you. He will be missed by many most of our family and those he touched,” Edward said.
On July 24, the photographer took to Facebook, saying he had been rushed to a hospital in San Francisco, California, “due to lack of oxygen.”
According to Facebook updates by his partner Jayson Vicente, he was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) on August 1, and sedated and intubated on August 6.
On August 28, Jayson said that Raymund was “stable” but remained intubated and sedated in the ICU.
A veteran in the photography business, Raymund started out doing fashion editorials and later branched out into beauty and advertising photography.
Through his work he has photographed some of showbiz’s biggest stars, including Vilma Santos, Piolo Pascual, Lea Salonga, and Judy Ann Santos.
He also authored The Good Photographer in 2017, and started a YouTube channel where he would chat with various celebrities. – Rappler.com
