LISTEN: Disney releases first Filipino track, KZ Tandingan's 'Gabay'

"Gabay," Disney's first track to be written and performed in Filipino, was released on March 5, performed by singer and rapper KZ Tandingan.

The song is part of the soundtrack for Disney's upcoming film Raya and the Last Dragon – the first princess film to draw largely from Southeast Asian cultures.

In the track KZ sings about coming together over a shared heritage – which is one of the film's themes.

In Raya and the Last Dragon, we follow Raya (Kelly Marie Tran), a warrior princess who seeks out the last mythical dragon Sisu (Awkwafina) in a quest to stop the sinister monsters who have turned the people of her land Kumandra to stone.

The film is set to premiere in Philippine cinemas in 2021.
