MANILA, Philippines – Beatrice Luigi Gomez is back from Israel!

The 26-year-old Filipina beauty queen arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday evening, December 15, just two days after representing the country at the 70th edition of Miss Universe in Eilat, Israel.

The Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) organization uploaded a set of photos from Beatrice’s arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport 3 where she was greeted by the Philippine Navy. She is also a navy reservist.

Beatrice, who looked stunning in a black-and-white jumpsuit, also posted photos of her on Instagram. “Finally home,” she said. According to her Instagram stories, she’ll be staying at a hotel for the mandatory quarantine.

The MUP has yet to announce their plans for Beatrice’s homecoming ceremonies.

Prior to leaving Israel, Beatrice had a virtual press conference to thank her supporters and talk about her pageant experience. “Maraming salamat po sa sumuporta sa aking Miss Universe journey (Thank you to everyone who supported me in my Miss Universe journey), especially to everyone who were with me during my Miss Universe Philippines journey,” she said.

“To all the Filipino communities here in Israel, I’m very grateful to all of you for supporting me and especially during my finals night. It was very heartwarming to see all of the Filipinos in the audience. Maraming salamat po sa inyo (Thank you so much to all of you) for giving me all the courage and strength that I need to compete and to make it to the Top 5 finalists,” she added.

Beatrice finished her Miss Universe stint as part of the Top 5, while India’s Harnaaz Sandhu won the crown.Rappler.com
