MANILA, Philippines – Good news, Junji Ito fans! Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre is coming to Netflix on January 19, 2023. 

The streaming platform made the announcement along with a new “key art” piece that shows a decapitated head, a headless body, and a many-faced monster. 

Along with the new visual, Netflix also unveiled four additional stories included in the horror anthology, namely “Ice Cream Truck,” “Tomb Town,” “Library Vision,” and “Headless Statue.” A total of 20 stories are confirmed.

Aside from posting screencaps as teasers, the streaming platform also announced the Junji Ito cast members, which include Hisako Kanemoto, Ryotaro Okiayu, Ryohei Kimura, Yuki Kaji, and Fumiko Orikasa, among others.

Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre is an upcoming 2023 anime horror series based on the work of acclaimed manga artist Junji Ito. The series was confirmed in June.

Dubbed the “master of horror manga,” Ito is also best known for his works Uzumaki, Tomie, and Gyo.
