Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT2) operations were suspended for about 45 minutes on Thursday, June 17, due to a technical problem.

LRT2 operator Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced the suspension at 4:18 pm on Thursday.

As of 5 pm, the LRTA said normal operations had resumed.

In a tweet, LRTA spokesperson Hernando Cabrera explained that there were system issues at the railway’s control center.

“Pasensiya na po. May problema po ang systems sa control center ng LRT2. Ang control center po ang nangangasiwa ng tamang bilis ng takbo, galaw, at pagitan ng mga tren para po sa ligtas na paglalakbay,” said Cabrera.

(We apologize for the inconvenience. There was a problem with the control center systems of the LRT2. The control center manages the appropriate speed, movement, and distance of trains to ensure safe rides.)
