Ginebra boots out TNT, completes PBA 3×3 Leg 3 KO cast

Barangay Ginebra gave shorthanded TNT the boot in the PBA 3×3 as it completed the quarterfinal cast of Leg 3 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Sunday, November 28.

Capitalizing on the absence of injured Jeremiah Gray, the Gin Kings prevented the Tropang Giga from advancing to the knockout stage for the first time with a 21-17 victory.

Mikey Cabahug showed the way in the win with 11 points as Ginebra caught the quarterfinal bus after an early exit in the second leg.

The Gin Kings got off to a blazing 8-3 start and built a 16-8 cushion off a Cabahug two-pointer before TNT stormed back behind the duo of Samboy de Leon and Almond Vosotros.

De Leon scored 5 points, while Vosotros tallied 3 points in a 9-3 run as the Tropang Giga narrowed the gap to 17-19.

However, Cabahug found himself open on the left corner and drained the game-winning two-pointer to send TNT packing.

The Leg 1 champion and Leg 2 third placer, the Tropang Giga struggled for the entire third leg as it battled suspensions and injuries to its key cogs.

Lervin Flores got suspended for two games for an unsportsmanlike foul, while Gray suffered a left knee injury in their second pool stage game and sat out the rest of the third leg.
