Mark Barroca and Ian Sangalang drop 16 points apiece as the Magnolia Hotshots return to their winning ways

The Magnolia Hotshots bounced back from their disappointing loss to the Meralco Bolts by crushing the Blackwater Bossing, 94-78, in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup at the DHVSU Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga on Friday, September 3.

Mark Barroca and Ian Sangalang led the Hotshots’ balanced attack with 16 points apiece, while Paul Lee added 15 markers as they improved to 5-1 in the standings.

Leading by only 3 points, 44-41, at halftime, the Hotshots came out firing in the third period and quickly built a double-digit advantage, 53-43.

It was all Hotshots from there on as they managed to extend their lead to as many as 19 points in the opening minutes of the final frame, 83-64, which proved too much for the struggling Bossing to overcome late in the game.

Kelly Nabong finished with a huge double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Mike Tolomia had 16 points for the Bossing, who remained winless in six outings.
