FOOD FIGHT. Where there are dwarves and food, there will be a food fight. Screen grab from YouTube (Tolkiendrim)
MANILA, Philippines - "Never invite a dwarf to dinner if you want to keep your house in one piece."
So goes a report in Total Film posted November 8 on the new featurette released online by The Hobbit, the new Peter Jackson film based on the JRR Tolkien novel of the same title.
The almost 3-minute video gives us a behind-the-scenes sneak peek into the dinner scene in the Shire home of Bilbo Baggins.
13 dwarves cram themselves around the tiny dinner table and — naturally — wreak havoc on Bag End, Bilbo's home.
Food stylist Deb Logan and on-set dresser Colin Elms speak in the video, and we see how they fill Bilbo's pantry with shelves of food.
"Dwarves are slightly viking-esque... Scientifically, we know vikings love to burp. That's just a given," said Martin Freeman who plays Bilbo Baggins.

Nope, the film's title has not been changed to "The Food Fight: An Unexpected Dinner."
Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis co-star with Freeman.
