MANILA, Philippines – After the Claudine-Raymart marital crisis, it’s now Sunshine Cruz against Cesar Montano.

The actress went to the Quezon City Regional Trial Court on Tuesday morning, August 13, to file an affidavit against her estranged husband in relation to the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act, reports ABS-CBN.

In an earlier report by Yahoo! OMG! Philippines, Cruz’s lawyer, Bonifacio Alentajan, qualified the case against Montano as constituting criminal charges, pertaining to Republic Act 9262 or the “Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004.”

Cruz accuses Montano, a critically acclaimed actor-director, of having repeatedly committed abuse and violence against her, including an alleged rape on May 12, Mother’s Day.

She further describes her ex-husband as “very domineering, philandering [and one who] demanded full submission and obedience.”

The couple broke up early this year, in the wake of an alleged affair between Montano and starlet Krista Miller.

Cruz also claims that Montano has been keeping their 3 daughters away from her, which has prompted this legal recourse, she said.

The court has granted the actress’s petition for a temporary protection order and will hear her petition for a permanent protection order on August 15.– Rappler.com
