MANILA, Philippines – Months after first introducing their adopted daughter Pia to the public, celebrity couple Chito Miranda and Neri Naig revealed that they’re in the process of legally adopting her.
“We consider her as a gift from God, from heaven. Lagi naming sinasabi (We always say that) we’re always discussing some children that are born of you, galing sa’yo (came from you), and sometimes, God chooses the parents for them,” Chito said in a vlog interview with Karen Davila.
“I think that’s the role we’re playing. We just consider her as a gift talaga and she’ll be legally ours soon.”
The Parokya ni Edgar frontman added that while he puts importance on having Pia’s last name to be “Miranda,” he only considers this as a formality since they’ve always considered her to be part of their family.
“Sa akin important talaga, para lang (It’s important for me) to avoid confusion. When I told her na, we wanted to be her legally ours, parang siya (she said), ‘Finally, I can call you daddy,” Chito shared.
