The Adiongs are under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats

Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal Adiong Jr., his son, brother, cousin, and other candidates under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats filed their certficates of candidacy at the provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Marawi City, on Friday,  October 1.

Adiong and his vice governor son Mohammad Khalid are seeking reelection.

The governor’s youngest brother, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) member of parliament Ziaur-Rahman “Zia” Adiong, also filed his certificate of candidacy for congressman in the 1st District of Lanao del Sur. 

If elected, Zia will replace his elder brother Ansaruddin Abdul Malik Adiong, who is in his last term as congressman.

The Adiong sibling’s cousin, Lanao del Sur 2nd District Representative Yasser Alonto Balindong filed his COC for reelection, too.

Zia Adiong said that their complete line-up filed their CoCs today, October 1, 2021, the first day of filing for an elected position.

The Adiongs filed their certificates of candidacy along with their candidates for the provincial board: Owie Munder, Alico Mangata, Shirali Sani, Nasser Ganda Jr., Zorab Marohombsar Mangotara, Allan Panolong, Amer Bitor, Caoden Limpao, Oden Balindong, and Sorayda Macapodi. – Rappler.com
