MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATED) It looks like Kanye West called out Taylor Swift in a song in his upcoming album, The Life of Pablo (formerly known as Swish, then Waves).
The Life of Pablo premiered at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, February 11 and it featured a song titled “Famous,” where Kanye rapped, “I feel like me and Taylor might have sex / Why? I made that b-tch famous.”
But following rumors that Kanye asked for Taylor’s approval before releasing the song, Taylor’s rep spoke up to clarify the matter – including which lines she knew about and which she didn’t.
“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous,'” said a rep for Taylor via statement issued to Entertainment Weekly.

The line seems to alludes to an incident during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA), where Kanye interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video.
Taylor’s brother Austin Swift posted a video on Instagram of himself throwing his Yeezy 350 Boosts in the trash.
The video’s caption reads: “Getting a head start on some spring cleaning. Here we go again.”
And while she didn’t mention Kanye or Taylor outright, Gigi Hadid was at Kanye’s event but sent out a tweet, saying, “My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there. My friends know of my loyalty.” Gigi is known to be one of Taylor’s good friends.

At the 2009 VMAs, Kanye famously interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech, saying, “Yo Taylor, I’mma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,” leading many fans and stars to call out Kanye on his behavior.
The two reconciled a year later, with Taylor releasing a song titled “Innocent” on her Speak Now album. Taylor sings, “32, and still growin’ up now / Who you are is not what you did / You’re still an innocent” on the track, which many believe is about her forgiving Kanye.
In the September 2015 issue of Vanity Fair, Taylor told the magazine that she and the rapper are on good terms: “I feel like I wasn’t ready to be friends with him until I felt like he had some sort of respect for me, and he wasn’t ready to be friends with me until he had some sort of respect for me – so it was the same issue, and we both reached the same place at the same time.”
The premiere of Kanye’s The Life of Pablo was livestreamed on Tidal. Aside from premiering the album, Kanye also released his new apparel collection “Yeezy Season 3” and gave a preview of his video game, Only One: The Game. – Rappler.com
