'The lesson that I really learned this year is winning is not about the crown but it's about the love that you feel,' says Pauline

MANILA, Philippines – Pauline Amelinckx looked back on her pageant journey as she made her final walk during the Miss Philippines 2023 coronation night on Tuesday, October 24.

Pauline, who was named inaugural The Miss Philippines in August, stunned in an orange embellished gown with flowing skirt and high slits.

“Dedication made this dream come true,” her voiceover played during her final walk.

“Philippines, thank you for making me feel loved and for helping me show that regardless of our body and limits others place upon us, we can become and overcome,” she continued. “May you always remember that your voice is valued and that using it kindly can make a world of difference. I have felt your Filipino warmth through your support and I will carry that with me throughout every journey in this life.”

Pauline concluded her speech with: “It has been my biggest honor and absolute joy to have finally represented the Philippines.”

After her final walk, the beauty queen from Bohol also had a quick chat with host, model Andre Brouilette.

“The lesson that I really learned this year is winning is not about the crown but it’s about the love that you feel. And because of everyone here, I feel like a queen,” she said before getting emotional.

Pauline then proceeded to thank her supporters and left them with an inspiring message: “I hope that each and every one of you is dedicated to your own journey, and you can make your own dreams go through with their dedication and gratitude.”

Pageant camp Aces and Queens also paid tribute to Pauline, writing: “With or without a crown, you’ve always been a true queen.”

Before being appointed as The Miss Philippines, Pauline was also appointed as Miss Supranational Philippines 2023 in May following the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 coronation night. She finished as first runner-up to the Miss Supranational pageant.

While the Miss Supranational 2023 pageant is Pauline’s first international stint, she has competed in three national pageants in the past four years. For the Miss Universe 2020, 2022, and 2023 editions, she had always landed on the runner-up podium.
