Ceej Tantengco is a woman of many trades, having balanced a freelancing career between sports and media. On top of that, she’s had to regularly contend with being “the only woman in the room.”
Now, Ceej has found the perfect platform in podcasting, which she believes can democratize both worlds of sports and media, and forge a new path towards equal gender representation.
Ceej went from courtside TV reporting to hosting Go Hard Girls – her own documentary-style podcast highlighting significant Filipina athletes. With the latter, she gets to choose her own stories and interview guests from anywhere with a stable internet connection.
From hosting one show, Ceej then became head of communications at PumaPodcast, the award-winning podcast network. This gives her direct access to insights in the shifting media landscape that can help fuel her advocacy.
A lot of people in the sports industry are operating off of assumptions that do not come from data, but rather, from their own personal experience.
