Marilao town mourns death of Mayor Ricardo Silvestre

Ricardo Silvestre was serving his second term as the local chief executive of Marilao. He dies at the age of 65.

BULACAN, Philippines – The municipality of Marilao on Monday, October 10, mourned the death of Mayor Ricardo Silvestre following a vehicular accident on Prince Balagtas Avenue at the Clark Freeport Zone on Sunday evening.

“Isang mabuti at tapat na lingkod bayan, habambuhay na nakatatak ang lahat ng inyong nagawa para sa Bayan ng Marilao,” MarileNews, official Facebook page of Marilao, said as it condoled with Silvestre’s family.

A report by the Clark Development Corp Public Safety Division – Traffic Management Section said a security agent informed traffic accident investigator Michael Frasco of the accident at 5:39 p.m..

The mayor’s driver, Rodel Alcantara, lost control on the steering wheel and had swerved to the left, hitting an electric pole, Fransco’s report said.

The two men were accompanied by the mayor’s secretary, Karen Bonifacio.

Silvestre, Alcantara, and Bonifacio were transported to Medical City Clark for medical treatment. The mayor was pronounced dead at 7:09 p.m. 

Silvestre was serving his second term as the local chief executive of Marilao. He was 65.

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando also expressed his sympathies on the death of the mayor.
