Trixie Cruz-Angeles

Rose Beatrix “Trixie” Cruz Angeles served as secretary of the Office of the Press Secretary under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. from June 2022 to October 2022.

Angeles obtained her law degree from the University of the Philippines in 1997. As a lawyer, Angeles represented Oakwood mutineer former Marine Captain Nicanor Faeldon. She was also part of the legal team of the late Chief Justice Renato Corona, during his impeachment trial in 2012. She had also served as counsel in cases against the leadership of the influential Iglesia ni Cristo.

In 2016, the Supreme Court suspended her law practice for three years for violating the Code of Professional Responsibility, stemming from a 2003 complaint of a client who accused her of not processing her annulment case even after she had fully paid the legal fees.

Angeles, who was among the vloggers who had campaigned for Rodrigo Duterte in the 2016 presidential elections, served the defunct Presidential Communications Operations Office as a social media strategist from 2017 to 2018.

In October 2022, just months into her role as PCOO secretary, Malacañang announced her resignation, citing “medical reasons” as her reason for leaving the Marcos Cabinet. At the time, Angeles’ nomination as PCOO Chief had been bypassed by the Commission on Appointments and she was not reappointed by Marcos.
