MANILA, Philippines – Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez is among the top 5 finalists for the pageant’s Beauty with a Purpose (BWAP) event.
The beauty queen announced the news on Wednesday, December 15 by sharing photos of herself from the Miss World gala charity night. Tracy looked regal in a pink Louis Pangilinan gown embellished with silver crystals.
“Philippines! We made it to the top 5 of the BWAP final round. Miss World Organization will also be coming to the Philippines to fund my project,” she wrote.
The Beauty with a Purpose program is the charity arm of the Miss World Organization, which helps contestants raise funds for their chosen beneficiaries. Tracy advocated through a short video for the importance of empowering single parents.
She continued that her entry, titled “Para kay Nanay (For mom): A Single Mother’s Journey to Love,” is dedicated to her late mother Chona and other single parents.
“This was all just a dream and now it’s finally happening,” she added. “Thank you everyone for the continuous support. A few more days before the coronation night, lalaban tayo (we’re going to fight).”
The final winner for the BWAP event will be announced during the coronation night in Puerto Rico, which is scheduled on December 16 (December 17 in Manila). Tracy has secured a spot in the Top 30 of the pageant after winning the Head to Head challenge.
Tracy, 26, is vying to be the second Filipina to win the Miss World crown after 2013’s Megan Young. – Rappler.com
